class=\"qodef-e-word\">Journey<\/span>\t<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-907ad65 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"907ad65\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>I am a physician, a USAF veteran, a triathlete, a wife and a mother.\u00a0 I was diagnosed with Parkinson&#8217;s disease in 2020 at the age of 46. \u00a0 I pictured myself on a steady downward trajectory and being completely disabled in a few years. \u00a0I suffered from anxiety and depression and gained 30 pounds. \u00a0<\/p><p>I enrolled in a research study at Cleveland Clinic studying the effects of high cadence cycling the progression of Parkinson&#8217;s disease. \u00a0 I quickly realized that the more I rode the bike the better I felt.<\/p><p>I started to run again, and decided to sign up for a half ironman triathlon. \u00a0I set bigger and bigger goals, until I eventually made it to the finish line of Ironman Hawaii.<\/p><p>Exercise is the only thing shown to slow the progression of the disease. \u00a0With Parkinson&#8217;s it is even more difficult to exercise and even more important. \u00a0<\/p><p>My goal is to educate and inspire others to fight this disease through exercise, gratitude and positivity, to set big goals, and live life to our fullest.\u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-b8cfe47 elementor-align-left
