However, Chichewa (also spelled Chichewa) is the most widely spoken local language and serves as the national language, used in everyday communication and media.<\/li><li>Mazembe is a rural village located in the scenic Nkhata Bay District of northern Malawi. Nestled near the shores of Lake Malawi and surrounded by the lush greenery of the Viphya Mountains, Mazembe forms part of a region known for its natural beauty, rich cultural heritage, and strong sense of community. The village is primarily inhabited by the Tonga people, and the local economy is supported by small-scale farming and fishing. Like many villages in the district, Mazembe reflects the broader social and cultural fabric of Nkhata Bay-where tradition, language, and a close connection to the land continue to shape everyday life.<\/li><li>Children in Mazembe, located in Nkhata Bay District of northern Malawi, primarily receive their education through local public primary schools. These schools are part of the national education system, which offers free primary education aimed at improving literacy and numeracy among young learners. However, the educational environment in Mazembe faces several challenges.<\/li><li>Many schools in the district struggle with overcrowded classrooms, insufficient teaching materials, and a shortage of trained teachers. For instance, the average student-to-teacher ratio in Nkhata Bay is approximately 96:1, significantly higher than the recommended 60:1. These conditions can hinder the quality of education that children receive.
